About Christine “DD” Nicholson

From Trauma to Triumph: A Journey of Rediscovery

Welcome!

Hi there! I’m Christine “DD” Nicholson—wife to Noel, mom to Jonah and Noelle, dog-mom to two silly pugs, and a woman who has walked through many hardships, was forged by fire, and came out renewed by grace.

I know what it feels like to lose yourself in trauma, addiction, and life’s storms. I also know the freedom of rediscovering your True Self—the woman God created you to be. That’s why I became a Self-Rediscovery Coach: to walk with others on their own journey of healing, clarity, and wholeness.

Welcome!

My Story

My life is a testimony of both brokenness and redemption.

  • As a child, I endured trauma—including a near-death experience, abuse, assault, and exploitation between ages 6–16. Those wounds became the roots of many struggles that followed.

  • In my teens and young adulthood, I battled severely low self-worth, poor body image, eating disorders, self-harm, drug addiction, and chronic alcoholism—desperate to numb feelings I was too afraid to face.

  • Throughout my 20s, with no belief in a Higher Power, dysfunction became my norm. Addiction and shame over poor choices cost me friendships, jobs, a marriage, and even stability.

  • By age 28 I was trapped between my past and a future I didn’t want to face — I often found myself wondering if life was even worth living anymore.*

But God.

Ten rehab stays, two overdoses, one night in jail, two college degrees, multiple careers (from acting and print-modeling to TV news reporting), a second chance at marriage, two children, and countless valleys later—I finally found my turning point in faith, recovery, and resilience.

Through God’s grace, the love of a patient husband, therapy, medication, and the support of recovery groups, I began shedding the false identities I carried. Slowly, I uncovered my True Self—the woman God always intended me to be.

That rediscovery transformed every part of my life: my marriage, my parenting, my creativity, and my purpose. With God at the helm, my self-worth grew, and so did my desire to stay teachable, to keep learning, and to share the joy of rediscovery with others.

Yes, I am a walking miracle. But so are you.

Before Recovery & Self-Rediscovery:

After Recovery & Self-Rediscovery:

My Mission

Today, I help women peel back the layers of pain, shame, and fear so they can rediscover who they truly are—in God, in life, and in themselves.

My upcoming book, Rediscovering Your Sacred Light: The 12 Spiritual Paths Back to Your True Self, is written for everyone. But through The CNIC Route—a 12-path framework—I guide women through rhythms of rediscovery with care, compassion, and lived experience.

It’s not about chasing perfection. It’s about taking action and reclaiming your authentic self, one step at a time.

What I Believe

When I’m not coaching, writing, speaking, or podcasting, you’ll usually find me:

  • Laughing with my husband, Noel (rhymes with “goal”), since 2007.
  • Cheering on my kids, Jonah and Noelle, in school, music, and life.
  • Snuggling our pugs, Cage (“Phat-Phat”) and Zip (“Zippy”).
  • Taking family road trips across Texas (sometimes in our pop-up camper).
  • Dreaming big about retreats, courses, and new ways to serve women like you.

Your story matters. You are not broken—you’re becoming.

If you’re ready to rediscover the woman you were created to be, I’d be honored to walk this journey with you.
